So I realize i have not been on in like 3 months... i am sorry!!!!
Well Spring break is over which means i have 8 weeks left of my second semester of college.. it is going by so fast. This semester has been so much easier than the last. I am not sure if i have the feel for college or my classes are actually easier. My grades have been better this semester than last and i have really good teachers this semester.
I plan on taking classes this summer so i can get caught up on my credits... Yes, that may mean i miss out on my family vacation and some events with the youth, but i am fine with that.
So our United weekend, was really good.. thank you for your prayers. This was my first year to go as a sponsor. I was in charge of the 7th and 8th grade girls. there were 5 of them so it wasn't to bad. We took a really good group this year. It was like even our shy kids were coming out of their shells and just trying to make the most of the weekend. My cousin Ryland Russell and his band lead the worship for the week, it was just really good to be there together with family.
So i think i should have titled this blog "it's a small world." i keep running into people that i used to know way back in the day. Back in February, i get a friend request on facebook from an old friend (Billy Elkins) that i have not seen in long time. Our dads grew up together and our moms went to college together... We have so much in common it is not even funny!
...we are both the oldest of three children
...we are both pastor's kids
...we both love music
...we are both familiar with the Chickasha area
...we know a lot of the same people
...we have both been homeschooled
(this is the very, very short list)
it really blows my mind, we went to falls creek together and our dad's did a revival together and we didn't even realize it.
people come in our lives for a purpose.I have been going through some hard times and he has been there encouraging and giving me scriptures that really lift me up. He has been that friend that i have been really needing. it has been really nice to have someone that understands the pressures of a pastor's kid, or understands the church, or just the smallest things. Billy understands that people have obligations for themselves and have responsibilities to take care of. He is not the type of person that is selfish and only thinks of himself.. He really cares for others. i thank god for allowing our paths to cross!!
so a couple weeks before spring break, i have had the desire to relearn piano. i had taken piano lessons back in 2002, but had giving up on it. so 6 years later, i get this desire that is.... {i want to be able to play the piano again. pick up a piece of music and play...} i kinda regret not sticking with it.
well i got out my old piano books and started reteaching myself piano. i retaught myself how to count and how the fingering should be. i had to start off slow, because i wanted to play it right. so for the past 3 1/2 weeks, i have finished two piano books and in the process of my third... it is going really good. i think my family is getting tired of me playing the same songs over and over again but it is helping me reteach myself.
well actually i am going to play the piano!! ahahah
